Halloween Night Out Drew 600 to 800 in Ladysmith
COMMUNITYLADYSMITH — Halloween Night Out brought an informal estimate of 600 to 800 people to Miner Avenue in downtown Ladysmith on Friday, October 30, according to the Rusk County Area Chamber of Commerce. No formal attendance count was taken.
Between the Chamber and Sheriff's Office station and the Lions Club, 260 hot dogs were handed out during the evening, which featured downtown trick-or-treating, treat stations from local businesses and groups, and participation from the City of Ladysmith, the Rusk County Sheriff's Office and the Ladysmith Police Department, among many others.
The Miner Theatre hosted the costume contest and a free movie following the contest. The Window & Business Decorating Contest included a $100 advertising credit sponsored by the Ladysmith News for the winning entry.
