Rusk County Voter Deadlines Arrive Next Week
COMMUNITYLADYSMITH — Two voter deadlines arrive next week for Rusk County voters in the November 3 general election, according to the Wisconsin Elections Commission.
Requests for an absentee ballot by mail from regular and overseas voters must be received by the voter's municipal clerk no later than 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 29. Voters must be registered before they can request an absentee ballot, and a photo ID is required with the request. Voters can register in person in their municipal clerk's office during business hours until 5:00 p.m. on Friday, October 30, and can also register at their polling place on Election Day.
In-person absentee voting continues at municipal clerks' offices, possibly through November 1, with hours varying by municipality, so voters should check MyVote Wisconsin or contact their clerk for the local schedule. On Election Day, Tuesday, November 3, polls are open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and absentee ballots must be received by the municipal clerk by 8:00 p.m. that night to count.
